Botswana CSI Projects

Corporate Social Investment (CSI) is an integral part of our commitment to sustainable development. We are committed to being a responsible and contributing corporate citizen. In this context, we have embraced a variety of socially responsible business practices which include a commitment to proactively invest in the social development needs of the communities in which we operate. Our CSI pursues opportunities to invest in communities and is underpinned by the REAL transformation philosophy, that is:

  • Relevant - CSI must make business sense; add economic value to all stakeholders.
  • Empower - CSI must make a difference to many; must bridge socio-economic gap.
  • Actualise - CSI must be a part of the DNA of doing business; a way of life.
  • Lasting - CSI must be sustainable, visible and have an emotional impact.

We Give Preference To Projects And Initiatives That Promote:

  • Education and training.
  • Health and welfare.
  • Poverty alleviation.
  • Infrastructure development.
  • Job creation.
  • Arts and culture.
  • HIV/Aids treatment and prevention.

We have identified disadvantaged communities as the beneficiaries of our Corporate Social Investment programme. Special care has been taken to enrich lives by initiating significant projects for the development of areas around the country.

Here Are A few Of The CSI Projects That PPC Botswana Is Involved In:

  • Renovating Gabaresepe Day Care center.

CSI Stories:

King of the hill marathon

For 19 years PPC has hosted the Kgale Hill challenge and annually hundreds of people from all over the country participate in a 15KM run up Kgale Hill in Gaborone to compete for the title ‘King/ Queen of the hill”.  Half of the proceeds in 2017 were donated to Pula Sports Development Association. The aim is to keep attracting some of the best upcoming athletes and contribute to the development of sportsmanship in the country. We look forward to many more years of fun, fitness and to raising money for a good cause!

Renovating Gabaresepe Day Care Center

Gabaresepe Day Care is a pre-education school located in a under privileged community. PPC Botswana extended the school’s facility by building portioned classrooms, kitchen, sick room, class rooms and abolition facilities. The facelift enabled the school to enroll more children and subsequently create employment. The day care center was handed over to the Village Development Committee at the gathering of the community and government officials.

PPC-Red Cross Handover of Tlamelong Rehabilitation Centre

PPC Botswana committed P1 million towards Tlamelong Rehabilitation Center to assist in its facility development. The center aims at building human resource potential in the community, including people living with disabilities, promoting self-reliance and a sense of responsibility in the community. It is for this reason that PPC found it fitting to partner with the Lady Khama Charitable Trust and the Red Cross to hand over the revamped facility. Through our donation, Lady Khama Charitable Trust have committed to aiding Tlamelong Rehabilitation Centre in building greenhouse tunnels. The centre has also received a complete borehole that will sustain the horticultural projects taking place.
